Training and Facilitation Of Women’s Livelihood Enhancement Programmes

CCDS facilitated the setting up of Fish farms and Poultry farms for women bodies and co-operatives in Rumuolumeni, in 2010, thus improving their capacity to earn a sustained income. This was done under the Women’s livelihood and Farming Enhancement Scheme (WIFES)A similar project also carried out for Rumuwagbara women association in 2012.

Delightsome Women Fish Farm Project

To kick off the project, an enlightenment workshop was held for both members and other interested women. The workshop majored on the benefits of home-based fish farming and encouraged every woman to make a difference in their homes and environment by doing some other viable livelihoods to support whatever they are currently doing. A lot of women indicated interest.
